Tourist Attractions


Kidwely CastleThe castles of Kidwelly, Carreg Cennen and Laugharne are about 30 minutes drive and Dinefwr, Dryslwyn and Paxton's Tower are close by. Castell Coch (the fairytale castle) and Cardiff Castle are about 50 miles away.

For nature enthusiasts there are many sites of interest, including the Pembrokeshire Coast and National Park, Aberglasney Gardens, Gelli Aur Country Park, Pembrey Llyn Llech Owain Country ParkCountry Park and Llyn Llech Owain Country Park.

Llyn Llech Owain is a fascinating walking and wildlife spotting reserve and is less than a mile away. Another beautiful place to walk is the Cwm Lliedi Reservoir. BEACHES
There are many beautiful beaches within easy reach of the cottage.

Tenby
The North and South beaches at Tenby are of fine white sand and are always popular with visitors at all times of the year.

Gower
The Gower Peninsula (surfers paradise) is famous for its beaches and only 30 minutes away. Once on the Gower, visitors can choose between long stretches of white sand, tiny secluded bays, or, may prefer to walk the peninsula coastline on one of the many coastal walks.

Llanelli
The millennium coastal park covers 12 miles of coastal paths, which have been transformed from their industrial past into beaches, woodland, fenland and harbours. The coastal path is enjoyed by walkers and cyclists. The famous Motor Racing Circuit is situated at Pembrey and attracts racers and spectators from all over the world.

South West Wales Coast
Carmarthen is also the start of a picturesque drive towards the unspoilt coastline of South West Wales. The quaint coastal village of Llansteffan is within easy reach and offers splendid views from the castle on the headland across the estuary towards Pembrey and the Gower penninsula. Beyond the village of Laugharne, famous as the home of Dylan Thomas, is the seaside town of Tenby, which is well known for its painted houses and harbour and a treat not to be missed.
