Cwmbach Cottage is set in the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside, with spectacular panoramic views, yet is within easy reach of the market towns of Llandeilo to the north, (a 15 minute drive) Carmarthen to the west (15 mins)and Llanelli to the South (20 mins). The larger city of Swansea, 'gateway to the Gower coast' is 30 minutes drive to the east. These areas are rich in history, and the cottage is an ideal location from which to explore. |
Llandeilo Famous for its stone bridge spanning the river Towy. Llandeilo is a small market town, with local art/antique shops, galleries and has a station for the Heart of Wales railway, 4.5 miles away. |
Carmarthen A larger, more lively town, Carmarthen - apparently the birthplace of the wizard Merlin - combines high-street names with local shops and has some 60 pubs. The busy indoor market sells everything from local produce to antiques. Every Wednesday and Saturday there is an outdoor market and once a month there is a farmers' market. |
Llanelli As well as having a good range of shops and an indoor market, there is the Millennium Coastal Park, occupying 20 km of coastline on the Burry estuary. The Millennium Park overlooks the spectacular Gower Peninsula. It features a unique array of attractions, linked together by a stunning 22 km traffic-free coastal path/cycleway, which stretches from Pembrey Country Park to the National Wetland Centre of Wales at Penclawydd. |
Swansea This city has an excellent shopping centre, marina and museum. A few miles further West is the Gower peninsula, famous for its white sanded beaches and many bays. |
